The kids having otterpops and watching the rain on the patio.
We had many weeks of rain this year, through springtime and into summer. Finally over the past week or two, we’ve had heat…and lots of it. 80 degrees might not sound hot to many of you folks, but when you grow up spoiled with 60 degree AC in AZ and then live in an apartment with no AC at all, it gets hot! *smile*
We took the kids to one of their favorite places on Friday dubbed the ‘Duck Park’. Half of it is a park with a big pirate ship play area, and then there’s a lake with a dock, sand, and ducks. Neither of the kids had been in a lake before.
Jaycen has hardly ever been swimming. So all of us were really excited. It was the best experience we’ve had with them so far.
Brooke pretended to be an animal swimming in the water.
And to top it off, a mother duck and her baby came over and swam in the swim area with the kids! We’re planning on taking them each weekend for the rest of the summer. It was SO much fun.
…and of course, we celebrated the 4th of July! Grandpa came over with lots of fireworks (mommy had only bought some poppers), cheeseburger and root beer float fixins…and we had a wonderful evening.
The kids got to play with loads of fireworks including ‘assault vehicles’ and ‘climbing pandas’. We have loads of fireworks left over for New Years or next 4th of July. The best part of it all was the family time. We were all laughing and smiling. *smile*
That’s it for now! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th, and we’ll see you again soon.
